CHAKRAS

Chakras

The Chakras are energy vortexes in our body by which various aspects of universal energy are "stepped down" for specific uses.
While there are thousands of chakras in our body, listed below are the seven major chakras with their related stones.

While the listed stones are the ones generally related to that specific chakra, please take note of the following:

You can use clear quartz crystal for all chakras. Agates, Jaspers, Calcites, Tourmalines, Fluorites and Quartz come in many natural colors and can be used with the chakras whose color they relate to.

If you feel a certain stone should or should not be used with a chakra, regardless of color or type, go with your instincts.

All stones seek to harmonize and balance energy in some beneficial way and their particular qualities may or may not be useful for you at any particular time.

For more information on chakras, please see our graph in the articles section.

First Chakra--Root Chakra
This is the root because it absorbs energy from the earth. Its location is at your tailbone and the pubic bone in front. It is sometimes called the basal chakra. It is the most primitive energy center and regulates our basic survival mechanisms. We associate the color red with this chakra. The immune system, our will to live, and our ability to reproduce are in its domain. It is our basic life force and properly stimulated it can ease fears and make us aware of past talents.  Studying the individual chakras begins with the root chakra, called Muladhara in Sanskrit. This center holds the basic needs for survival, security and safety. The root chakra is powerfully related to our contact with the Earth Mother, providing us with the ability to be grounded into the earth plane.   This is also the center of manifestation. When you are trying to make things happen in the material world, business or material possessions, the energy to succeed will come from the first chakra.

This energy center influences the thymus gland of our immune system, circulatory system, tissue regeneration, and right brain function. It is the center of our higher love, healing, and understanding, and compassion. It is the gatekeeper to the higher chakras and must be unblocked for us to grow spiritually. It is the crossroad of transformation and balance. It stands midway between the physical and spiritual life. Both forms of energy are processed here. If the spiritual energy coming from the upper three chakras is blocked, this will deny the lower three the vital energy required for preparing our physical body for its spiritual growth. This Chakra generally opens during group ritual magick. The fourth chakra is referred to as the heart chakra. It is located behind the breastbone in front and on the spine between the shoulder blades in back. This is the center for love, compassion and spirituality. This center directs one's ability to love themselves and others, to give and to receive love. This is also the chakra connecting body and mind with spirit. Almost everyone today has a hard, hurt, or broken heart, and it is no accident that heart disease is the number one killer in America today.  Deep heart hurts can result in aura obstructions called heart scars. When these scars are released, they raise a lot of old pain, but free the heart for healing and new growth.

The crown chakra is located at the top of the head and functions as an inlet for and as a link with spiritual energies. Violet is it color. This centers also referred to as the "Thousand Petal Lotus" and functions to maintain a continuity of consciousness. It is the 1st chakra to receive spiritual energy from cosmic sources, and last energy center to process energy flowing up from the lower chakras. A block in this chakra means there is no flow of spiritual energy in either direction. Life now becomes stagnant and meaningless. All possibilities for spiritual growth will cease and the physical body will eventually die when this chakra is blocked. Proper balancing of this chakra can release information of our higher self with our physical body. The seventh chakra is referred to as the Crown. It is located just behind the top of the skull. It is the center of spirituality, enlightenment, dynamic thought and energy. It allows for the inward flow of wisdom, and brings the gift of cosmic consciousness. We as spiritual beings are immersed in the energy field of the universe. This consists of all 5 lower planes. You may only be conscious of events occurring on the physical plane, such as fragrance of perfume, an itch on your body, or the sound of a bird chirping. This does not limit us to the physical plane. The reason we do not perceive these other dimensions are simply due to the fact that our consciousness cannot handle the extra data. The true nature of our being is spiritual and energy based. Normally our energies are in complete balance and harmony. We have a higher self, the perfect part of our soul, which regulates these energies. Chakra energies are a significant component of this system. Our soul is simply energy that’s created in duality and is trying to return to its original source. The subconscious mind is another term for the soul. As spiritual beings composed of energy, we are dynamic in motion, and its natural for us to reach outland interact with other energies. This interaction contributes to our realignment in our own energy systems.

THE EIGHTH CHAKRA-THE TRANSPERSONAL POINT is located several inches above the center of the head is the Transpersonal point. Through the Transpersonal point the soul is manifested into matter, it carries the individual’s reasons to incarnate into this lifetime. Other names for this center include "Soul Star" and "Heavenly Chi".
